For some reason, I can't turn the car on, because the key will not turn. And steering wheel is locked up and I cannot wiggle it to turn the ignition.... any suggestions?

Use one arm to move the wheel back and forth, and the other to jiggle the key. Patience - it'll work.Originally posted by nickmp0weryou should be able to wiggle it while tunring the keyComment

no, but I don't see how that would help....Originally posted by nickmp0werwait, so you jacked the car up and couldnt do it?
And Beemerfanatik, wiggling the steering wheel is not working. I tried for quite a while with no luck. It's weird because I've never had any problems starting the car up, and one day, I park the car, go back to turn the car back on, and the steering wheel is locked up & ignition won't turn. :?~ Go Canucks Go! ~

Jacking the car up would free the front wheels - therefore taking any resistance off the steering rack. If the jiggle key/wheel method isn't working - that's the next thing I'd do. Worth a try - you lose what, 5 minutes if it doesn't work?Originally posted by royalflush313no, but I don't see how that would help....Originally posted by nickmp0werwait, so you jacked the car up and couldnt do it?

No he never found an answer and the car had to be totalled.Originally posted by davidlDid you ever find a solution to this problem?
I currently am going through the same problem. I already tried both methods listed
Try holding the wheel as far as you can one way while jiggling the key.
