Ok so I took off all of the chrome trim off my 1990 e30 to paint. I have NO idea how to reinstall the pieces that go around the rear windows. I was told to take the rub weatherstrip off and put everything on the trim, then reinstall but I couldnt get it to go back in, even with soap and water and wd40. The window would only reinstall without the trim. Body shops wont touch it. Anyone have a clue how to do this?

I am probably reading this wrong. Are you trying to install the rear window after you installed the trim? also is this a two or four door? On a two door the window is installed first then the trim goes on.sigpic -
i just did this...
1. take out your rear window
2. with the weather striping still around the window install the trim into the weatherstripping. (work at it inch by inch spreading the weatherstripping and pushing in the trim at the same time)
