you have to rotate the white nylon cup 90 degrees, I forget which way. you're supposed to use a tool from below but I tried using one or two screw drivers from the top. Mine would spin for like 15 degrees and bind. I ended up having to break the tabs on the side of the white nylon cup to get it to come out. Good luck, and invest in a bentley manual, it tells you how to do all of this.

did you pull off the C-clip or whatever? then just pry that sucker out sideways.

The shifter rod apparently has a notch and then an cylinder with a larger diameter and thats why its not coming out, WTF

Is the "cylinder with a larger diameter" really thin (like a washer)? I think that is just the c-clip. When I replaced mine, the rear one popped off very easily, but the front one looked like there was no clip on it. Just a c-shapped washer that is clipped onto the notch on the end of the selector rod. You just have to pry/destroy that clip to get it off. When you replace it, you can put on a normal clip to make things easier.
                  Hope that helped.

Hey Erik, thanks for the response, really appreciate it, I already had one of those older clips on and destroyed it and put a newer one on, but I remove that when I try to remove the shifter rod. I just don't understand the other side comes out like a snap but this other side I break my balls and pull to get it out and it just won't come out, theres no circlips on it or nothing.

so does anyone have any idea about this? is the other type of selector rod different and wider making it stuck inside the bushing?

What is this cylinder you are talking about? Is it skinny, like a washer that is stuck in the notch at the end of the selector rod?
My guess is, like I said earlier, that it is just the c-clip that lost the clip part of it. Now there is just a c-shaped washer holding on to the notch on the selector rod. You have to either use two screwdrivers/pliers to get if off.

If it is something different than what I am thinking, you should take some pics of the problem, so we can get a better idea.

No dude, its the same piece of the selector rod, im just saying the part of the rod that goes into the joint has a little notch in it, when im taking it out and it goes past that notch it wont budge further

That sucks. I don't really know what to tell you now, besides try spraying some lube on the end, so that it can slide out easier. It sounds like it is just binding on something. The selector rod should not be larger at the end, so it should just slide out now. Good luck
