    No consistent idle.

My car idles like crap. It goes from below 500 to 1 grand then back to about 300 stays there then goes to 1000 idles fine then up and down for a good while then back to 300 chug chug shudder shudder.

The SI lights go all funny when it does this, red yellow, red yellow, off. Oil Inspection Service, off.

The car also smells really rich. Basically at idle it sounds like my car is dying.

Tinkered with the idle control valve that did not help at all. I think the problem is more serious. Make me want to sell my car serious...

    Help.

    Sold it.

clean out the ICV as much as u can (maybe soak it in carb cleaner).....i've heard people who've had the same wondering idle got it fixed by just thoroughly cleaning out the ICV.

if that doesn't fix it, u may have a vacuum leak somewhere (check for vacuum leaks between the AFM to the intake manifold gaskets, and don't forget the breather hose, oil cap, dip stick, & valve cover gasket)

I adjusted mine and it was fine for a bit now its just ridicoulous and adjusting the ICV isn't doing anything. I think it may be faulty. I hear if you disconnect it and the idle is the same as with it connected then the ICV is faulty.

Anyone know if this is true?

      Sold it.

They arent much on ebay, you could pick up a new one and be sure if its the ICV or not.

        I bombed Korea every night.

I dunno. I'm probably just going to take it to a mechaninc. Im tired of throwing money and time at this car to fix problems and the problems never get fixed they just come right back whenever I have money.

          Sold it.

            I think it's a vaccuum leak.

                woah brought back

                anyways update.

Cleaned the ICV out a few times still came back everynow and again.
Got the AFM adjusted that made it happen less
got a chip has not happened since (might just be coincidence)

But I think my AFM sticks a little bit now at low throttle 1/4 or less.

                <3 my car..

                Sold it.
