    oil level sensor

So correct me if Im wrong but the oil level sensor is on the passenger side of the engine just above the oil pan correct? if so, is it possible that the o-ring in that mother f'er is leaking oil on a pretty consistant basis!? cause Im pretty sure thats what going on with mine! if not what is that?

there's an oil pressure sensor (which i believe is on the passengers side) and the oil level sensor, which i think your left, on the drivers side. it is possible for it to leak but clean up the area and check it again after its clean. you should be able to trace the leak. it could be the oil pan gasket too...

The oil level sensor on an M20 engine is on the left (driver's) side of the oil pan. Prime causes for leaks on the right side of the engine are the valve cover gaskets, oil pressure sensor, or on cars so equipped the oil cooler lines or adapter.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

check the oil filter housing, that leaks as well as the oil cooler lines.

Wait what? I've been all over my engine and never seen a sensor on the drivers side of the engine.

I was under the impression that on M20s the pressure and level were the same sensor, the one on the right side a foot above the drain?

The one on the passenger side is the pressure sender for the oil idiot light. On the drivers side you'll notice the oil pan extends out from the side of the block. The oil level sender is mounted on top of the pan there.

so if oil is dripping from that sensor....oil pan leak?

could be #10. i think a few of us were just saying it's possible the oil pan gasket could have a crack or might have shrunk in that spot, so you may want to trace the leak.
