I'd say go through the suspension and brakes. Make sure you can stop the jalopy.
Ma che cazzo state dicendo? :|

check for - floor pan rust, oil leaks, brakes, suspension and of course, the ICV

when i purchased the 85, i did the standard. Brakes, tuneup and oilchange

Here's what I do on all my "new" used cars:

Belts - Inspect and replace as needed
Hoses - Inspect and replace as needed - usually just replace the cooling hoses though.
Flush radiator and cooling system and refill with new coolant
Flush brake system with clean and new fluid
Change transmission and diff oil (make sure you can get the filler plug out before you drain)
Inspect suspension bushings and plan to replace if needed
If you've driven the car you should know if it needs shocks and struts or not.
Inspect brake pads/shoes and rotors. Replace as needed.
Inspect brake hoses. If you have any doubt on their condition, replace them.
        Perform an oil change.
        Change fuel filter.
        Change Air Filter.
Inspect ignition wires, cap, rotor, and plugs. I usually just replace them.
Check condition of power steering fluid. Change as needed
While performing all of these check for leaks, worn parts, rust, and any other item that may need to be addressed.

I think thats everything. Doesn't hurt to look at your water pump and thermostat either since weather is heating up.

By the time I've done all that I have a good idea where I am with the car.

        Also, welcome to e30 ownership.
