    checking Fuel Pressure

    how do you check fuel pressure? how do I know if my FPR is going bad?

    There should be a shreader (sp?) valve sticking out on the fuel rail. Just screw in the gauge. When FPR's start going bad it usually starts by "loosing" fuel. Think of it as a check valve holding the gas. The gas flows back and the car won't start at the first time. You need more than on try to "fill" the system with gas and build pressure. Have you check your fuel filter? Low pressure with clean fuel filter usually means a faulty pump.

      I don't know about late model 318is cars, but none of the other E30 variants have a schrader valve on the fuel rail. To check pressure you tee into the line that feeds the rail.
      The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.
