    car isn't starting... trouble shooting

After driving my car for about 10 minutes, i run inside to grab some things from the house.
I get back into my car, start it and it starts.. then suddenly dies
I tried several more times, every time dieing sooner. To me, it sounds like a bad fuel line or fuel pump, but that is coming from my mustang family and I, and BMW's are always different.

I left the car for a few hours, then just tried to start it again a bit ago... and it won't even start now. The motor still turns over, but its not getting gas or something?

let me know what you guys think asap... thanks

Well I had this same problem and whatever happened killed power to my fuel system and aux fan. I replaced fuel pump and all first then did some more electrical testing and found out it was a blown fusible link on the positive battery cable in the trunk... on the small wire. Pain in the ass..

I would test to see if your fuses and relays are getting power. If not thats your problem. If they are try switching relays... if that doesnt fix it then try fuel pump.

yea check your main and fuel pump relays. It could also be your CPS (check for spark).

My first suspicion would be the fuel system if spark is present when cranking the engine.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

I checked the owners manual, and couldn't find a fuse for the fuel pump? So I'm guessing its a relay for the fuel pump. Looked around online for the location of it, and think i found the right one but i'm not sure. and the fuses were not the issue.

my next guess would be the fuel pump itself?
what do you think? should i jump the gun and drop the 200$ for a new one? and if so where from.
