Chip for low-octane gas?

I know most chips say "must use XX octane fuel", but some don't say anything about it at all. How can you tell what chips are tuned for what grade fuel? It makes sense that to get a few more horses/lbs-ft you would need gas less prone to pinging, but are there 87oct chips out there? And if yes, are the hp/tq gains even worth it?

Chips make more power out of a stock engine by slightly increasing fuel flow and advancing ignition timing. So a chip is going to almost always mean that you have to run a higher octane gas.

Buy the miller WAR chip. You can have like 4 tunes at once on it. So you can set up a 91 setup and a 88(water) setup and even a vallet mode.

Its because chips advance ignition timing. I dont get why you would want a 87 or 89 chip. Just stick with stock tuning.

Bingo. The real answer is to just keep it stock. In theory, you could run a 173 ECU if you're dying to swap something out.. You'll have more chip upgrade options running that ECU
