Last night we got the cluster out to replace the SI batteries as I suspected that after 6-8 years of the car not running they were dead. Quick check with the voltmeter confirmed.
Now here is the kicker, I am having a hard time figuring out where to de-solder. Also I beleive this and early style SI board with AA sized battery, VARTA 500 RST.
It does not seem like I can de-solder the batteries from the tabs:
Not the nice corrosion :(
Am I supposed to de-solder from the back of the board?
