Brake light issue

Well the issue is there always friggin on!!! I replaced the brake light switch and even tried adjusting it only to find out....its not the brake light switch. My father and I are guessing its a wiring problem, but figured id check in here first. Any links to a wiring schematic, atleast the parts relevant to my brake lights??? Oh and my e30 is a 90 325i.

When the running lights are on, alone 1 out of the 2 appropriate active lamps light up. When you abase the anchor pedal, with the active lights on, neither anchor lamps appear on. When you brake out the active lights on, neither appropriate anchor lamps work.
