New strut bearings/mounts

I pulled this from my car last night. My car has been making a creaking sound in the front when rolling around in parking lots/going slow etc. I imagine this is the cause? It was on my front driver side perch. What is this thing?

those are chunks of the suspension bumpstop.

Looks like a piece of a bump stop. I doubt that it is the cause of the noises. More likely causes would be bad upper strut mounts, bad control arms or bushings, bad sway links, or bad sway bar bushings.

I think i will get some new bump stops, strut mounts (and some e90 drop hats while I'm at it) and see if that helps. I did CABs a few months ago and the CAs ad sway links looked fine. Will double check of course.

There seems to be no harm with the E90s as long as you use all the pads/washers etc. Or am I understanding that wrong? I've read through the epic thread a few times and figured I'll give it a shot.
