whenever the engine is running I can hear a slight leak at the brake pedal but if I press the pedal down the leak goes away. It has no effect on engine speed etc... just wondering if this is normal? thanks.

That isn't normal and is probably a failing brake booster.The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

One from a slavage yard would be the cheapest, but that is a real "roll of the dice". I'd suggest a new one from NAPA, Advance, etc.The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.
