    Mystery dash light

This green light, which would appear to be for the directionals, was never lit before now, and it won't go out. I don't see it referenced in the owner manual. Any ideas?

I can't contribute any help to you but I can say that I do wish I had as much fuel in my tank as you do :(

I wish I had your idle speed... might want to http://www.bimmerwerkz.com/forum/3-s...ght-43134.html
most say that they never had a bulb in that slot so the PO might have put the ABS/brake pad wear light in that slot? maybe a Euro feature? good luck.

Nope, not ABS, not fog light and not directionals - related. As far as I know, and I have records on the car back to 30k, the cluster has never been out, so no PO has stuck a bulb in there. I am very puzzled.

              Unlikely.

You gotta watch that stuff, it tends to run out in the worst of times.

My guess is it's the check engine light bulb put in the wrong socket. Does your check engine light work?

Yes. I am very puzzled. I do not see a reference to this light anywhere.

thought only euro cluster has that indicator... Euro cluster has different film strip than US cluster

I have euro model and believe that's where check engine light is positioned in US cluster.

Did that light go on when key is in position II? If so, that may be check engine light.

Try to do a throttle stomp test and see if that light will flash

pretty sure that is the check engine light. I have one too and it went on when I was having problems with a vacuum leak.
