    derust, lighten and resurface

For years now, I've been going to High Perfomance Engines - a really good machine shop local to me.

The work is excellent and I've been told that alot of the European Speciality shops like to use them because of the high standard of work.

I recently dropped off a single mass flywheel to be resurfaced, balanced and lightened.

Stupid me I left the flywheel outside in a plastic container that I thought was undercover and water proof - it wasn't and moisture managed to get it and started rusting the flywheel.

Anyways long story short is $325.38 outrageous for derusting, lightening (7lbs lighter), and balancing?

It seems ridiculously high - since I've heard this job should only cost $120.00 - $150.00

Can anyone verfiy that I'm being ripped off or is this price justifiable?

derust the flywheel yourself, its really easy

or search rust removal by electrolysis

once you've done that, then take it to be resurfaced/machined

    good to go!
