    86 325e will not start!!!

I just bought the car, and drove it fine for about 2 hours. I noticed some hestitation when I pushed the throttle passsed about halfway.

I left the house to go show off my new ride and it acted like it ran out of gas. It just kind of sputtered and died after driving it for about a minute. Now it will not start at all! Fuel pump seems to be working (at least the fuel filter is gettin gas). Fuel filter is fine, although I believe it was on backwards! I put on a different filter the right way. Any suggestions???

Sure sounds like a fuel pump. Did you actually check pressure from the pump or just pull a line and see if it dumps?

Replace fuel filter with the OEM. Replace the air filter. Check the Boot (between the MAF and throttle body) for a massive leak.Could be cracked.
Check for other intake leaks. Fuel pumps can be intermittant.
My problem, when I first bought mine was the boot. If it is old it is more than likely cracked. Good luck --Steve
