Had a problem with random no starts and stalling
Symptom: random unpredictable stalling/no start. MPG meter would stay to 0 with key at run, not 40+ as it should
Answer: OBC relay box connections were broken at their solder points to the board.
The box located on the firewall under the IC above the door gong area. It has two green connectors that are plugged in. I could test this problem by wiggling the wire connectors in their base and see the MPG meter respond sweeping to 40+. If you remove the 2 9mm nuts that hold the box in, then unplug the 2 connectors, Carefully pry the bottom end (the end with the plugs) out of the shell. Inspect all solder points. I had 4 broken.
the board is small and simple. a smaller soldering iron can melt the connections back in very easily
this was done on the 85 325e with full obc features
