Will I damage the car further without powersteering belt?

Please see my other post for why I am thinking of doing this. But, can we run these cars, without damaging the rack or steering universal, without the powersteering pump engaged?

No, remove the belt. I have done it numerous times and run all of my E30's with no PS.

Thanks guys. Would you mind looking at my other thread and let me know what the hell might have happened to my steering. I have had the rack out so many times I can do it in my sleep. But, I am mentally and physically exhausted with my steering issues over the past 3 years. Not to mention, I just re-did my timing belt because of the noisy goodyear belt. That is why I just want to remove the belt. I can't tackle replacing the rack and pump right now.
