I am in the process of building a 1986 euro 318i that is being converted to a 325i. It is a later model engine, but I have found an early wiring harness now, so that will be going in. My question is the car has both 101 and 104 connectors, the new engine harness I just got does to, but in the process of repairing the f**ked instr. cluster, there was a wire going to the back of it, what is it, and do I need it? what exactly do the 3 wires do on the connector? thanks.

I believe there are 2 for a higher idle (if you put m together)

I think the one you are talking about is for the automatic trans. this wire is coming directly from the rear of the guage cluster and I believe its heads over to the ECU connector areaComment
