so last night I go to change my oil pan, all the oil pan bolts are off as well as the 4 torx bolts on the tranny bell housing. the corner closest to the driverside will not come loose. wtf am I forgetting? pissing me off!

there is one more bolt on the driverside a little bit up on the bellhousing that runs horizontal take a light and look you will see it its a bit tight but you will see it, leave one of the 10 mm pan bolts half in to catch the pan so you dont get covered in oil and drop the pan under control.

once the pan is dropped unbolt the 3 oil pump 13 mm bolts and watch for the hex oil pump shaft dont forget to reinstall the oil pump shaft witht he pump on re-installation. you'll prob have to jack the motor up on one side from the AC bracket and drop the front subframe an inch or so just loosening the 4 front sub frame bolts leaving them in a few threads, gentely work the pan out. take your time

    hope that helps

so what is the purpose of that hex oil pump shaft? is it just a brace? the washers on both ends were super brittle and broke to pieces when I pulled it all out. is replacing them super important?

that shaft is very important it turns the oil pump, without it the oil pump would not work. Do not forget to re-install that oil pump shaft or you can kiss ur motor goodbye. Yes replace the washers I only have one on mine and it works fine.

its a bit fidily getting everything back in there, so take ur time
