    Air Conditioning

So I am a newb at the HVAC systems. I recently bought a 87 eta that did not have working air conditioning. I turn it on and hear the compressor, and it just blows normal air. I am taking it to an air conditioning shop, but would like to get some advice before they try to take advantage of me. Could it just be a simple recharge? Car has 126k miles btw. Thanks

It could just need a recharge.

It takes R12, which is WAY more than r134a. Find an AC shop that can service r12.

Yup, see if you can dig up a shop that works with R12 or it's alternatives. I converted mine to R134A and it has since toasted 2 compressors. I am now stuck either spending big money on a conversion compressor or hunting for a used compressor that accepts R134A.
