Fan clutch alternatives?

The engine driven fan and clutch can be replaced with an electric fan. I'm of the opinion that to do so you need a 16" fan rated for at least 1800cfm. You also need to control the fan with an 82-83C thermoswitch and 30a relay. The hardest part of this is coming up with a mount for the fan that doesn't involve the radiator core. Anything that directly attaches to the radiator core can wear a hole in the radiator. Done properly, replacement of the engine driven fan winds up costing more that a brand new engine driven fan and clutch, so it isn't cheap solution for a bad fan or clutch. The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.
