    Clutch Pedal Woes

I finally got the pedals installed today as part of the 5 speed swap and it seems like the guide spring that is supposed to push the cluch pedal back up doesn't work like it's supposed to and I cannot figure out why.

Part of me thinks that it's I have it in there wrong but it's installed just like the Bentley manual shows. When you push the pedal down all the way the spring guide pops up and of course the pedal doesn't pop back up.

Also the pedal is about 1-2 inches higher than the brake pedal and wasn't sure if that was right either.

Make sure it's seated fully in the groove on the arm. If it still pops out, rotate it and try it that way. BTW, my clutch pedal is about 1/2 inch "above" the brake pedal, i think it's normal/nothing to worry about

Just gave it a try though it doesn't seem to matter which way I turn it if you completely press the clutch down the spring guide pops up and the pedal sticks to the floor.

That is what it should do without the hydro. parts in place.

I was just thinking about that..

Though earlier today when I had the master cylinder attached to the pedals the spring pushed the pedal up high enough to make the top piece of the master cylinder to pull out of the rubber boot.

that's why there is and adjustment nut on the spring it self.
