Hey I've been having idle issues,I just kinda looked arround the common issue areas:icv, cracks loose hose claps or sensor connections, but then weeding threw my fuses I had 2 blown fuel fuses I THINK 21:7.5 amp and the other one,I honestly don't recall, and now my car runs wonderfully.
I'm new to the BMW's,and mechanics at that but hey I'm trying to help

    Edit:the other fuse I mentioned is fuse#11

I saw the other day by chance that (2) of (3) tabs/receptacles in the TPS conector on the harness were pushed in. The were making no contact to the sensor, hence no communication to the DME. I fixed them and the idle evened right out.

i have the same prob, i feel like it'd be the tps or maybe a coolant sensor?.... i have an 87 eta and it only idle's weird/high at optimum temp. like from cold, warming up to optimum, it idles fine. but then as soon as the needle's in the middle, it idles high and sometimes fluctuates.

has anyone solved their prob yet or have the same symptoms as me?
Have the intake smoke tested and fix the leaks the test finds.

my eta was having a random intermitint stall thing when warn, usually after shutting her down and restarting a couple times, like running your weekly erands but only in the sumer, never ever in the colder months hmmmm. replaced with used but from known working cars, the fpr, tb and tps, icv, air flow box. put on new tb boot, and the hose from the vc to the tb. did all this the same day and guess what, thats right, stall problem gone but high idle. now this is where it gets weird. if the ambiant air temp is over 60f she idles at 1000. if the outside temp drops below 60, the idle shoots up to 1250 or 1300. now, from time to time at the higher idle if you let the clutch out to drag down the rpm's, she will drop to 1000 and stay there. would an intake leak be ambiant air temp sensitive?

rarely my m20 will idle high around 900-1k and eventually settle......funny thing is when I hit my a/c button the idle goes maybe 100 rpms higher but the engine sounds under heavier load. It doesn't rev noticeably higher at all, just heavier sounding like its under load.

I have been plagued by something similar. When I hit the a/c button, the car wants to idle at 2k. I have replaced the intake boot, icv and some vacuum hoses. But, still no luck.

I have the same problem... I think it is a intake leak on mine but I am interested to see the other possibilities that people come up with.
