    ix engine into an i....

I have been searching on the forum and internet but can't seem to find a straight answer. I'm also limited on time. I am purchasing a 90 325i with a blown engine. I am able to get an engine off an 'ix'. But the thing i need to know is if the ix engine will drop right in without any problems/headaches. Thanks in advance.

Oilpans are different. You can just buy a non-IX oil pan and swap it

I read that, but then have also read that you can't do that because of the oil pump.

this was discussed less than 2 weeks ago. please search a little more.

for your purposes, I don't believe you have to swap the oil pan, the ix motor will fit fine, it's just made for room for the front driveshaft.

OP, you need to search better. Go READ the thread linked in the previous posts. Specifically post #26, I posted all the info there.

Everyone else in this thread should also read that post and stop spreading bad information on this subject. Sometimes it is better not to post at all, only you can stop the spread of mis-information.
