    AUX Fan electrically question(s)

So I recently installed an OE AUX fan in my E30 (1990) and I'm having electrically issues. First, things that work: the fan and fan resistor are both fine and work. The high speed relay works and turns on the fan when the engine gets hot.

Now for what doesn't work. When I turn on the AC to engage the low speed relay the fuss blows out. It looks like a short to ground, but I have traced the wires back from the fan to the fuss box, no shorts. I DO NOT know where the low speed relay is and have NOT checked it.

Also would a short in the AC electrically behind the climate controls effect the AUX fan circuit?

It sounds to me like there is a short in the wiring between the low speed relay in the fuse box and the fan resistor.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

      Fuse 3 or Fuse 20?

The "low" speed relay is actually called the normal speed relay. Its relay K1, front & center in you fuse panel.

In that case, I'll definitely second Jim (as usual)
