    Forever DEAD...

Ok, so I start checking everything out for my no spark, no fuel, again and here is what I came up with.

Again this is on an 86 352es, 35 pin DME connector. The car cranks over just fine.

DME - NO POWER except at pin 4 when cranking the engine (swapped DME just for grins and still nothing)

MAIN RELAY - Power at pin 30 only, regardless of key position (last night I would get more power, notably to pin 86 but only when the key was ON as it goes through the Onboard Computer Relay Box whatever that is)

FUEL PUMP RELAY - Hot at pin 30 only, pumps do not run, they will run when I jump pin 30 and pin 87

    No power to FUSE 11

No Spark from Coil or otherwise

Both CPS tested in the car @ 948 Ohms each

Battery Junction Block - 12V at all relevant points

I am stumped, this thing ran the other night for about 30 minutes before I shut it down. It idled like crap undulating between 800-2000 RPMs.I did notice I had three lights lit up in the indicator above the mirror and the dashlights/temp gauge were dead. Any help or idea will be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks in advance, Wendell

Sounds like your OBC box might be dying.

Open up the glovebox, and look for the three pin connector coming out of the DME harness. (In the pic it is the disconnected plug in the lower right)

Now follow the harness in the pic to the upper left of the pic, to the still connected white three wire connector. Unplug the DME connector and the upper connector, and plug the DME directly into the upper.

      Wires

      Dave,
Thanks for the quick response. I went out to the car just now and guess what...I don't have that other plug, my car is already hooked up to the wiring that matches those on that upper plug if that makes sense...I went and talked to a local BMW mechanic and told him about this thing and he told me to bypass that on-board computer relay box, I'm going to try that tonight, if she runs it's off to the junk yard to snatch it off the one I've been raping lately. Thanks again,
      Wendell

What I posted is exactly how you bypass the onboard computer box oddly enough....

          Bypass

          Dave,
I follow you, what I'm saying is I don't even have that other plug you showed me. It doesn't matter, I just jumped it at that computer control relay and it started right up, either way I did it, you helped me! Thanks! So I just got back from the junkyard, the only thing missing off that car I've been stripping out of the wiring is that damn box! Can you believe that shit! I'm going back tomorrow to get the entire chassis harness as it only has one cut circuit in in and I am the one who cut it so it's all good.

I wouldn't sweat that box so much. It has two relays in it, one for preventing the car from running, one to beep the horn. No great loss.

But I need the horn to pass inspection down here in Louisiana. Surely someone is parting one out on here and I can snag it cheap.

Just wire in an aftermarket horn.

That won't affect your normal horn, just the OBC horn.
