A/C clutch?

can i replace the A/c clutch with out replacing the whole compressor or is it all one unit? are the m42 and m20 ones the same?

Yes it can be replaced. Requires special tools though.

Compressor units varied greatly from motor to motor and year to year. Without part numbers its very hard to say.

would it be worth doing instead of the whole compressor? if i just do the clutch it shouldnt have to be recharged and stuff
