    New starter, no windows?

Alright, so since i can't seem to find any diagrams on the starter wires. Guess i'll go ahead and see if any of you guys can help me out..

Had a new starter put on the car. But now the windows have absolutley no power. Got to messing with the starter and found if i grounded one of the progs on the starter the windows worked. So i mached it up and had it all ready to go. Started the car and it melted the wire in seconds...

So im more confused than anything. Any help is greatly appreicated.

sounds like you have a ground problem for your lights. Find another common ground instead of the starter motor. ground it to the body. if the wire melts then you have to much resistance on the wire. Something else is the problem. Might want to check power supply to all the motors or maybe a short somewhere.

When i grounded the starter, i grounded it to the shock tower. And once it started it melted.

All the motors get power once this one prog is grounded.

I think it's your unloader relay wire that's missing, it should run from the starter to the fuse box, just search unloader relay and you'll know what I'm talking about

When the starter was replaced either the unloader circuit wire wasn't attached to the third post on the starter or the wrong starter (one with the unloader switch) was used.

Good point. Since I never use anything but the more expensive Bosch factory remans I tend to forget about this oh so common problem.

                  Hmmm...must be nice!

To the OP: find that green/black wire and put it to ground, make sure your stuff works, and THEN make them give you a new starter that has a proper unloader terminal.
