Hey I'm sure its been covered before but can't find anything with the same exact symptoms on the forum.
One day my fuel guage went nuts and started flickering from full to empty about 5-10 times a second....crazy fast. Been doing that for about a week then just suddenly went limp to empty. Now my fuel guage doesn't work at all. Here's the thing when I fill my car up completely it shows full and stays there until about 10-15 miles of driving then shows empty again. The light does not come on unless I'm truly on e. So that said my guage doesn't work but my light does. I have replaced both fuel level senders with no luck. I have noticed though that if the key is in the off position the guage is below e or off and then when I turn the ignition to the on position the needle moves even lower by about 1/32 of an inch. Barely noticable but if you look closely it does. That said it can't be a fuse but a bad ground perhaps? I've taken the instrument cluster out to try to find the problem with no luck. Have not put an electrical tester on the wires but read in a diagram that there is a specific ground separator or splitter that runs off the wires from the tank. Where is that located? Anyway I'm stumped. Plz help!
