    smoke coming from HVAC vents!!!

My wife drove our 1992 5er today. When she got back in the car to leave the store and turned on the AC smoke started coming from the vents. She immedietley turned off the AC. She got home and told me so I wnet out and turned it on and no smoke came out but a noticable burnig smell was there. Does anyone have any ideas on what this could be? No smoke coming from under the hood just through the vents. Does the E34 have a cabin filter that could be clogged and could this be the problem? Will dashboard wiring gremlins transfer smoke in to the vents?

    Thanks, ABE

Was it actually smoke or was it a white mist that was really cold? My AC has blown that out before on really hot days.

No I wish. It was smoke accompanied by a burning smell like some wiring got too hot. I did'nt acctually see the smoke but I smelled the buring.

Perhaps the blower motor is on its way out?

then the entire cabin filled up with smoke couldnt see shit
let the window down tuirned off the ac pulled over
some leaves since ive been parking under a tree at the gfs house
had made their way down to wear the blower was

E30 blower motors do like to go out with a big bang, but as to your 5er, I don't know...
