guys' i recently put brake pads on all 4 wheels. i noticed that the front lining sensor was disconected and wire tied to the brake line. when i installed the fronts i diddn't replace the sensor cause the new pads where not equiped with the plug in. on the rears they where so i installed a new one. worked fine for 6 months and then the dash brake lining light started to flicker and with time stayed more on than off. i disconected the sensor from the pads but diddn't un plug the other end, wire tied it up also but the dash light still is illuminated. any ideas?? oh yea, the light seems to flicker when i hit bumps in the road.

The brake light sensors, when new, are a continuous circuit (i.e., zero ohms). When the sensor contact the rotor that circuit is broken and the light turns on. So the light coming on when it shouldn't be incicates a falut in one of the snesors or in the wiring or in the cluster. The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

Very likely solder joint in cluster. Simple test. Simple fix. Don't cut wires.

Actually several documents combined into one I think.
