Car wont start, going to kill it.

Well my car has been having trouble starting for like 2 months + now. First thing I did was to buy a battery (not the best step to take) and that seemed to fix it for a while. Then the same thing happened, over time it took longer to start. Until it wouldnt w/o a jump. Well I bought a alt from a friend ;) got that installed and tested (13.94). Now I go outside (0 degrees) and the car wont fucking start. So am I on to the starter. What symptoms will you get with a dead starter? Imput needed.

Also how hard is a starter install?

well it sounds like something is draining your battery....if the starter is dead it wont start even with a jump...all the jump does is supply the power

Crap, how do you find a drain like that? How do you go about getting a starter tested? Could the drain come from a very poor headlight wiring job? Im lost here anything is helpful.

Well it cranks a couple times, dosent really just stop. One time randomly it just started, but yea thats it. But the cranking slows down the more you do it for the most part. The lights dim and such. I somtimes cant jump it, but if a charge it for a bit then it may work.

Maybe check the voltage regulator on your alternator. They tend to wear out after time and would keep the alternator from charging your battery. Pretty easy thing to check, too.

If it's a 5 speed get it rolling and pop the clutch and the car should start up. Make sure to have the key in the On position.

Its bolted to the alternator with two little screws. The minimum length on the brushes is 5mm according to Bentley.
