    318is

I just bought a 91' 318is. It needs a new cat and I would like to have a short shifter. What would be a good replacment for the cat? Also can the 318is use like z4 shifter parts to make a short shifter like 325is's?

are you in california? or some other state that requires emissions testing on pre-95 cars? just replace the cat with a straight pipe.

maybe someone else can list a link to the do-it-yourself short shifter page that has the info with all the BMW part numbers you need.

its only like 50 bucks i think

Please go to the FAQ forum, it's a little down the page past thign one. There's a ton of info on short shifters there including comparison stories and pics along with part numbers. It will end up running you about $60
