RPM when started from cold start 1800....

.... after engine warms up the RPM returns to idle. Car did not do this before.

Is there a vac leak or a ICV? Where do I start? 1987 325is.

The first thing I'd suspect would be intake leaks. Have a shop run a smoke test nd repair as indicated.
