    Maintinence day

I posted this on bimmerforums.com but I'm going tommorow morning so I thought I'd cover all bases and get as many questions answered before I leave.

Tommorow I have designated the better portion of my day to some maintinence, my first mechanical session on this car. I'll be stopping by home depot and Autozone.
    I will do:
    rear brakes/rotors
    flush brake system
    change oil/filter
    touchup paint on rear

What size hex wrench do I need to do the brake pads? Rotors? (7mm?)

What kind of oil should I buy? What oil filter should I buy?

Is there any sort of automotive primer you would recommend?

Where can I properly dispose of my oil?

You need a 7 for the pads and a 5 for the rotors.

I highly recomend going 20-50 or 15-50 on the oil. Get and OE filter (dealer or Mahle OC49).

Autozone probably takes used oil. Ask them.

Autozone also carries Bosch filters, which are a close 2nd to mahle and mann.

if there is an O'reillys where you live they will take care of your oil (I work there). I dunno if autozone does the same thing.

Don't know if the law varies across the country, but at least here any place that sells motor oil legally has to accept used motor oil (in proper containers) back from the customer. So you can go to Auto Zone to buy whatever motor oil you want and bring the used stuff back Stop 'N' Shop.
