Where is the tach/rpm sender in the engine bay? (M10 engine)

troubleshooting my non-working tach. Fuses are good, gauge cluster batteries are good. Now time to trace the sender wire to see if there's a short someplace (or if it's hooked up).

So...rather than going from the dash down, I'd rather go from the sending unit up. Can anyone point me to where the RPM sender is located? On various cars I know it may be at a spark plug, or at the dizzy, etc. But not sure here. So before I spend a saturday evening poring over wiring diagrams in my Bentley, hoping someone can help out.

    thanks in advance!

    It's like 99% of 80's cars with a coil
    The coil ground.

Thanks....yeah, a dumb question but I'm used to early '70s cars, where it's a cable repeater from the bottom of the dizzy running directly to the old-school Smiths gauges.

Never had to deal with a tach on anything newer, lol. Actually, this is the first '80s car I've ever owned in 20 years of owning cars!
