New gauge cluster?

I am doing an engine swap into a 1987 325is and will be replacing the complete factory gauges with Autometers. The only company I can find that offers a new cluster to accept the Autometer gauges is BMPD. They want $899.95 for it. :shock:

Anyone know of something else similar? Or, is there enough room to use the factory cluster and use a VDO or Autometer gauge in place of the factory gauges?

make your own. It wouldnt be difficult at all to fabricate, and if you could do the wiring, then it wouldn't cost much either...
