    Strut Tower Nuts

AHHHGG!! I figured since I have been driving with the new suspension for a little while it would be a good idea to make sure everything is still tight. I was making sure the strut tower nuts were tight and one of the studs broke off of the upper strut mount/bearing. Would it be safe to drive with it like that so I can pick up the part of should I replace it right away?

The quicker the response the better.

get one as soon as you can. Even if its not critical, its never a good idea to take a risk with suspension/brakes, at least imho

you can drive missing one stud... i would keep it on the tame side tho.

you have to drop the strut assembly to replace it.

Can you just take the stud out? or do you have to replace the whole upper mount?

If you just take the stud out, how do you do that?

The stud is a ribbed design, it pressed into the mount.

Yeah you can replace just the stud.

Thanks for the help Jordan. I was able to tap the stud out with a little bit of force. Of course BMW doesnt have the stud in stock. It will be in on Thursday so I think I will be able to drive to and from work untill then with 2 studs.

            Thanks again.

I hate those fucking things. Mine came out at the end of my spring install and the schools shop was closing for the day so I had to drive around with 2 then take it apart the next day in the morning to put it in.

Frustrating when it keeps falling out putting it up in the strut tower.

              Sold it.
