    Idle fine tuning Q's

So I keep looking at some posts and my handy Haynes manual (yes, I need a Bentley) and I have a few questions with regard to idle

As per posts on here, hominids can unplug their AFM and the car should idle high...my car dies on the spot if I unplug my AFM

Also, as per my Haynes manual. For an ICV adjust, you unplug the ICV and the idle should shoot up to 2000rpm. When I do this the idle cycles between 500-1500 every 3 seconds...wtf?

Note: When warm or even at startup my idle is 700-750+- 50

I'm just wondering if my throttle body adjustment is off or if there is something else I'm missing

    Cheers!

The first action should be to have a smoke test run on the intake and crank case.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

Take the car to a shop that has the necessary equipment.
