    Electronic locks stop working ocassionally

Ok, since i got my car the drivers side door would only deadbolt shut, it would not lock to the inbetween position (i guess this is a common problem on e30s?). Several weeks ago, the drivers side door lock started not letting me lock the door with the key... like the lock it self was stuck into place. I can still lock the doors from the trunk or the passenger door. Around this time the electronic locks started to stop working whenever they feel like it. So I have to lock all the doors manually. Then a few hours later its all fine. Im hopeing this is just to a loose connection somewhere? Does anyone have any ideas / experienced a similar problem?

there is an electronic module in the drivers door that actuates the lock. I would check that. Its kind of a cross between an L and T shape.

Do they still lock from the trunk?

normally all the doors will lock when I lock any door or the trunk. now, i can lock the trunk or passenger side door, but it only locks the one I lock, not all the doors :/. My guess is maby a problem with the central locking box? due to it affecting all doors, does that seem right?

Its gotta be the box, perhaps something killed it during the alarm install.

Those central locking computers are really easy to break, i'm shocked i'm still on my original one.

Rip it apart, and reflow the solder joints around the connector, they tend to get old and crack after awhile.

If that does not fix it, then it should be the accident switch, which you can bypass (look at the ETM)

and if that does not work, replace the damn thing :p
