where is the water coming from and how do i fix it. the floor is wet on the drivers side down by the dead pedal. any ideas?

Cowl most likely rusted out - typical and often happens when leaves build up and water has no where to go so it sits in the area until it rots through. This is a design flaw from factory as water doesn't drain down into the fender well properly. you may need to remove the fender and fender liner to inspect the damage and repair it. Maybe only the liner. start there.

yikes time to do some exploring i guess. where do the sun roof drains come out? from the out side there is not a stitch of rust on the entire car.

Is it for sure water and not coolant?

When that was happening to my car i found the heater valve to be busted and letting coolant leak.
