clicking sound when i try to turn my car over?

I just recently did a head gasket and now when I go to start my car I hear a *click* and its not a dead battery, but I think I located the clicking and its at the Bosch relays that aren't in the main fuse box,and the fuel sensor at the end of the intake manifold.any ideas what's.wrong?I'm somewhat electronic illiterate.

you have a bad ground for your block? check the wires on your starter.

$10 says the ground wire from the chassis to the oil pan is disconnected or loose.

Yes! Make sure that valve cover ground is...well, grounded. Then make sure your battery is fully charged. Then check your starter connections. Then check your starter relay. But seeing how you hear it click, I would imagine that the relay is fine.

There should be a large ground wire from the oil pan to the frame rail on the driver's side. Surprisingly though that small ground from the valvecover is enough for the starter's current. Unbeknownst to me I ran like that for almost a year.
