    Boot (Trunk) leaking

Ok, so ever since I've owned my E30 it's been leaking water into the battery side of the boot. I've replaced the boot seal, both tail light seals, the fuel filler seal, sealed the antenna hole (opposite side anyway) and sealed off the sunroof. It still leaks. Looking at it today, the water seems to be coming down off the shock tower and pooling just before the battery box. Looking at the rear window seal, it seems to have shrunk and is gaping about 1mm in the corners. The rear window trims seem secure so it beats me.

I can't think of what else it might be - am I best off getting the rear window removed and re-sealed to see if that eliminates it?

Pics below - that was after 2 min with the hose during a wash:

Any other suggestions would be appreciated :)

Would that be the old rubber grommets on the exterior gutter of C pillar trim?

    Number 16 to 20

bingo! I had to replace mine last wk. Was leaking in these exact spots, and needed new grommets & gaskets. One word of advice, remove the trim off the car completely and lightly hammer these plastic grommets in place so its snug into the body.

I replaced them once a couple wks ago, and it didn't 'snap' into the body, and continued to leak. This was the root of my problem.

Quick question: How do you go about removing the trim? I've just gone through the Bentley manual and there's no mention of it

            Cheers

Update - worked out how to remove it (helps to read the DIY) - guess what's broken/missing? 2 Grommets, 3 seals and one strip. Off to BMW I go tomorrow :)

Fingers crossed this is the issue

Thanks - will follow up with results when I get the parts.
