    Chips vs Gas Mileage

I'm currently looking into getting a chip, general consensus seems to be to go with the MarkD chip, so that is my plan as of now. I mainly would just like some more low end and consistent power all the way up the rpm spectrum. Seems that a chip will be the best thing I can do for my little M42.

My only question is about gas mileage. My 318 is my DD and I love my good gas mileage, so I'm just wondering how these chips or specifically the MarkD chip affects gas mileage?

    Thanks

cant speak for the m42 but my eta's gas mileage might have even gone up a couple mpg. keep in mind you will be paying more for gas as you will need to use hightest. and my chip is a fleabay chip for 40 bucks and i love it.

Well I already use premium gas, so that is definitely not an issue. I don't mind getting a lot of things on the bay but something like a chip I am definitely going to go with one that has a great reputation like MarkD's plus I like to support fellow enthusiasts as much as possible.

Thanks for the input if that is the general consensus then I will def go for it.

I have a MarkD chip on my m42, which is my DD. I actually have noticed a bump in my mpg. Went from about 30 to 32mpg. Definitely recommend getting it.

Good to know, I suspected it would give a gain in mpg and I definitely can't wait to give my lil 318 a little extra kick.

            Many thanks!
