    Replaced Fuel Pump...

Everything went alright as far as being a PITA job goes, but once i was finished the install, reattached the battery cables, and started up the car, the radio didn't come on.

I checked the fuse's and none are blown, what could have happend and what can i do?

    thanks

I installed a 80lbs(120psi) fuel pump to my 325 last week and yesssss its a mayor PITA, its all so cramped in there, absolutley no space to play around.

Dunno, if its a stock radio you might need the code. If its aftermarket there may be a fuse on the back of it or you need to unplug it and plug it back in.

Yes, they have fuses on red and yellow wires, which red is power, and yellow I think constant or something, anyway, check for the fuses there, if they are blown, to fix it quick, bypass the fuse with single thin wire from stereo wires, but make sure you get new ones because if anything happens again, fuse will not blow, and your stereo might.

Skat, What fuel pump did you get? Are you using it for forced induction (thats what youre plans were right?)? Is it an intank pump, or inline?

Yes im using it for forced induction( i have the car getting the timing belt replaced, installing thicker head gasket along with all the gaskets that the engine has, and getting the head o-ringed and installing new valve seals) and its inline, i put it exactly where the stock one goes. As for brand name i dont remember, ill have to check at home if the box its still there, it flows more than the msd fuel pump wich was the one i was planning to buy.

where did you mount the fuel pump? i thought the stock one goes in the tank via the access under the rear seat?

I figured since I have a main and aux pump, I might buy a better pump where the aux pump goes... but maybe that wouldn't be a good idea if the aux pump was stronger than the main.... o.O

Skat has the same fuel pump setup as you darien. He bought an inline pump to replace his main pump which is mounted under the car. A stronger pump is unnecessary unless you are doing significant engine mods like skat and matt.

sorry darien I had no idea, good luck on your project! The only reason I said that is that sometimes people upgrade stuff without a purpose. It seems that they automatically think bigger is better. They don't understand that mods must complement each other to be most effective.
