    Oil Level Sensor [HELP]

I was driving down the road today nd the "check" light came on in my 87 325is and i pulled over because it wasnt the typical brake lights it was engine oil. I checked the oil, it was a tiny bit lower than normal, but not even close to below the low level line. I drove home and put some more oil in. The light will not go off. I disconnect the battery and tried that....didnt work. Before i drop 100 bones on a new sensor what should I try?

    Thanks
    Isaac

Clean the old sensor out. The hole for oil to enter into it is pretty small and easily clogged.
