    Thinking about napalming my car.......

So, i have an 87' 325e, and the thing was running just fine, and one day, i started her up, and smoke started coming out of the exhaust, the car shut off, and gasoline starting running out of the air filter.

I have no idea what is wrong.....any suggestions would be welcomed.

I am extremely pissed at this car right now, my restoration is almost complete, except for this one issue and paint......I could really use some advice.

    Thanks!

Not a broken rocker arm, I have checked that. And not noisy either. Someone has to have had this problem before, there has to be someone...who knows this situation.

What kind of smoke? Black? Blue? *shudder* White?!

Was this on a cold start?

            Temperature?

How long did it sit before said problem?

Are you sure it was gasoline coming from the filter?

This is a very strange issue you are describing, I would love to help just to find out what happened.

Yeah......it's white smoke! I know, it's bad. It was a cold start, it ran for about 10 seconds, starting sputtering, and then shut down. And definitely gasoline coming out of the filter.

White smoke is a sign of coolant burning. Did the car overheat the last time you drove it?

sounds like its time to pull the head.

Nope, car didn't overheat. The head has been pulled and rebuilt, and still the same issue has arisen. I feel like it may be something electrical? But I'm not aure

Coolant temp sensor possibly. Could be causing your car to dump WAY too much fuel. My car sputtered, shut down, and wouldn't restart and it was because of the CTS. Dump the fuel out of your intake elbow and see if it will restart. (Note: I have an m10)

Hmmm coolant sensor? That the only thing I think that I didn't replace, but yeah that's what seems to be happening. Seems to be dumping way tooooo much fuel. I'll check that in the morning and see

Your fuel pressure regulator could be bad. Remove the vac. line off the FPR and see if there is fuel inside. If so, FPR is bad.

Fuel in the intake makes me think of a problem with the cold start valve, excessive fuel pressure, or a fault in the engine harness or DME that is grounding the injectors (causing them to stay open).
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

Hmm, okay I can check the FPR tomorrow too. And my e30 does not have a cold start valve. It's manufactured in 08/1987, so it doesn't have one
