    Loose ext mirror

My drivers side mirror is slightly loose and with any significant speed (wind resistance) it bends in towards the car and then even when the inner mirror is adjusted all the way out I'm still looking at the side of the car. Is there anything to adjust or replace on the inside of it or do I just need to replace the whole thing?

Not to quibble but what does a mirror (safety device) have to do with appearance and cosmetic??

I'm guessing you had this in General Discussion? I didnt move it here, but agree it should be in this section. Too many people are too lazy on here to get out of General Discussion and post in other parts of the forum. Wheels and tires have a place, but people keep posting in GD, lighting has a place, but people keep posting in GD, Someone has a question about paint, they post in GD but yet there is a section for Body&Paint. It gets very tiring each day to log on and see the amount of stuff thats posted in GD when there is a correct part of the forum for each part of an e30. Your case its a side view mirror. A part of the car that falls into the section where this needs to be. Now there is another section called General technical, but since this is a side veiw mirror that has to do with the body basicly, it got moved to the correct part of the forum. Sorry for the rant, i'm just tired of things getting posted in the wrong sections on here.

Its not a matter of aesthetics. I'm not asking about how to secure a body kit. I can't see in the mirror. I'm asking about the mechanical nature of the mirror. I was a admin on a bike site with over 5k members so while I fully understand the frustration that comes with moderating a board full of guys not posting in the right area, this particular post has nothing to do with general aesthetics/cosmetics of the car and this section that it was moved to is less appropriate than the general section it was in.

        That's my $.02

Ultimately, it doesn't matter what section this post is in. I don't know why I'm worked up about it. I just want to know if anybody has fixed their mirror's internals.

If the mirror glass is what is moving, replace it and the adjuster assembly.

Thanks Jason. Sorry I was a little bitch about it. ;)

It's not the glass that's the problem, the whole mirror assembly is loose. Like the way the mirror can fold in to avoid breaking off if you hit it while driving and then it's meant to snap back into place when pushed back into position. But the snap back into place aspect of the thing is wonky.

That sounds like a need for a replacement housing & mount.
