goes away about 15 degrees into clockwise turn of the wheel, also decreases under braking, gets worse the more left lock is added, ideas?

Does it sound like a growling type of sound, is it speed relative, and is your car AWD or RWD?

I have the same but with right turns. Um...is your wheel fender molding properly secured?

i have the same with my right turns. about 10-15degrees, much vibration more so than usual. i looked under the right front wheel area and saw my steeing rack boot on the passenger side is ripped and dirt is getting in. so thats one possibility. the other is i think bushings.

Just had a problem like this the other day. It was like a grinding kind of noise from my rear left spindle it sounded, but I tightened my jack down, and removed the toolbox I store in the trunk and it didnt do it anymore.

probably a bad outer balljoint.- would kinda guess its the right one that's bad too. jack the front of the car up, and try to wiggle the wheel back and forth, and up and down.
